There are times, at dusk, when the better view actually comes from the East. With the sun already below the horizon, its rays hug the mountains with a diffused light known as Alpenglow or Alpine Glow. And so, this is how I view my own life amidst the Beartooth Mountains perched from my porch. I soak in these fleeting, romanticized minutes and carry them with me. Always. Wind and snow return to thicken my blood, yet those stolen moments remain to warm my heart all winter long. Then reality hits as I notice my numbing fingertips. I head back inside, closing out the cold. |
I am beginning Year #4 on this artsy-fartsy journey! I can't wait to see what it will hold. My art cart patiently sits to my left waiting to be refilled. Trust me, this won't take long at all! This is the cleanest it will be all winter.
Still a Work In Progress, but you get the idea of where it is heading. In this, I see the color of this week's Alpenglow in the lettering. I feel the safety and warmth coming from within the cabin. And as I follow that big swirl, I feel myself turning inward.
Although it is a very Wintery scene to be in front of a Summer Studio, I think this captures the when and where I create beautifully.
