I took an intentional week long sabbatical from creating. The weather was gorgeous and forecasting more snow than we got (happily!), so Rick and I were buzzing around the property prepping for winter. Okay, mostly Rick was! But, here are some of the bigger items I got checked off my list.
- Studio cleared, cleaned, and shut down until next summer.
- Wifely duties to do . . . done.
- Quarterly report to mail . . . mailed.
- Bills to pay . . . paid.
- Closet to switch out for the new season . . . switched.
When in the world did that happen? When did vacation become a reality check? Beginning this artsy journey just over a year ago, I had no idea it would turn into this much of an obsession! This time-consuming, mind-altering, disheveled hobby has overturned my world; I couldn't be happier! Hours spent painting are the most peaceful and colorful moments of my day. My desk has looked like this for the past week--patiently awaiting my return. So now, I come back with a big, renewed sense of triumph. As I type any blog post, music pumping, rocking, lilting, or . . .Today, it's deep and soulful music with a fantastic beat that tease my eardrums. I am half typing half dancing. |
Heading back to this painting while the tunes have me feeling like I can conquer another layer or two!
