Loaf X Loaf #18What an amazing, creative push lately! The realization that resistance will likely always be there to push back somehow lessened its power over me. It usually shows up as procrastination, but for the moment I'm bouncing from one project to another. I am undamming my creative flow layer by layer, expelling lots of stucknesses. |
Unbound my newest journal for the first time ever. Exchanging pages and group sections adds a whole new dimension to journaling. I have already noticed quicker locating when looking back. It feels like a gathering momentum. Even if it is short lived, I'll take what I can get! Wish me luck keeping it going! |
I really can't say enough about Golden's High Flow Acrylics. I used to be terrified of the blank canvas. Now, with quite a few drops of color into Fluid Matte Medium and a couple rotations of the canvas, I get this very organic, almost ethereal, effect.
The pic above is a close-up. You can see the weave of the canvas and all those tiny fjords of color! Most, if not all, of this first layer gets covered up. It's just mesmerizing to watch. And the canvas is no longer stark white!
I shifted my whole work area from painting to jewelry. Dug through last summer's leftovers and gave them a good polishing. Then jumped into production to refill my studio with new bling!
I filmed a quick video on how I finish up my nylon-coated wire jewelry. A brain fart over the word jump ring becomes o-ring for a while. And, I say "crimp" way too many times, but you'll get the idea.
With the slightly warming temps, time to get out the lighter clothing. Adding some pleated pockets to my denim jacket. A fun Ladies' Night at Chico Hot Springs for a long soak with gal pals who also made it through another Cooke City winter! Cannot complain when this view through the sun roof tells me we're almost home. |
All in all, it has been a fantastic end to March. Lots accomplished and leaves me with an extremely positive outlook on future plans, er, layers.
